For more than 26 years, Dr. Michael Calfee has dedicated his career to helping people overcome orthopedic injuries, reduce pain and return to the activities they enjoy. His interest in medicine began with a simple goal: to make a difference in people's lives.

As a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, Dr. Calfee provides a wide range of orthopedic care, including hip, knee and shoulder replacements, sports medicine, advanced arthroscopic procedures, hand surgery and treatment of fractures and injuries in older adults.

After spending much of his career practicing in Tennessee, where he founded Advanced Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, Dr. Calfee was drawn to Sidney Health Center by the opportunity to help strengthen orthopedic services in the region. With a longtime connection to Montana and an appreciation for the community, he looks forward to building relationships with patients and helping them receive quality orthopedic care close to home.

His passion for helping others extends well beyond his everyday practice. Dr. Calfee has participated in more than 15 international mission trips, primarily to Honduras, where he has performed hip replacement surgeries for patients who otherwise may not have access to orthopedic care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Calfee enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife have been married for more than 33 years and have three children. Their daughter Grace Ann is a child advocacy attorney, Elizabeth is a physician assistant, and their son Hudson is in his third year of law school. Two dogs, Rocky and Bailey, are also part of the family.

When he's not caring for patients, Dr. Calfee enjoys cooking, golfing, reading and flying airplanes. An experienced pilot with more than 1,700 flight hours, aviation is one of his favorite ways to spend his free time.

Dr. Calfee is excited to bring his experience and passion for helping others to Sidney Health Center and become part of the community he now serves.
