Rooted in Compassion: Jessica’s Journey to Becoming an LPN
For the past three years, Jessica Dockweiler has been growing her career while continuing to serve our community, and she recently reached an exciting milestone by earning her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Her journey at Sidney Health Center began as a Telemedicine Coordinator, where she supported patients and providers through virtual care. She later transitioned into a Medical Assistant role, giving her the opportunity to work more closely with patients while also attending nursing school. With the support of her coworkers and mentors along the way, she recently achieved her goal of becoming an LPN. Today, Jessica continues to care for patients as part of the Pediatric Clinic team, where she brings compassion and dedication to the families she serves.
Her passion for healthcare was also inspired by her grandmother, who worked tirelessly as a CNA while raising three children as a single mom. Although her grandmother always dreamed of becoming a nurse, she never had the opportunity to attend nursing school. Later in life, when she needed caring for herself, and Jessica had the chance to help care for her, an experience that confirmed Jessica’s calling to work in healthcare and support people when they need it most.
Jessica is a busy mom to four wonderful kids, and her family has played a huge role in helping her balance work, school, and home life. Their encouragement helped her push through the challenges of juggling many responsibilities while pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse. When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her kids and family, as well as camping, gardening, and caring for her growing collection of houseplants.
Becoming a nurse while raising four children was a major accomplishment, and she’s grateful for the support she received both at home and from her colleagues at Sidney Health Center. In many ways, earning her LPN also feels like continuing the dream her grandmother once had, making the journey even more meaningful.
Congratulations on this wonderful achievement and thank you for the care and dedication you bring to our community every day!
